Plaza Star Bowl

"leh long leh long" 1 for $1 | "leh long leh long" 1 for $1

Hey what is the dollar deal about ? What's the lowest rates you have come across for a 10 frame bowling game ?

Thought Marina South was the lowest, having $1.5 on weekdays (if i remember correctly) BUT this offer gonna knock you down! Yeah A dollar a game, player play all the way. And it's on a Saturday.

Got to know about this place from a colleague, Plaza Star Bowl at Textile Center lvl 8.

Went there with Zk last week. Reached there around 10+ in the morning and play it to our hearts man!!

After first game (warm up), we decided to play punch - loser pays. Though I kept losing till ZK had to make an offer of giving 30 pts lead per game =\. Somehow I just can't get the momentum correct. I will do well for a few frames and something unusual will happen.

In the end, I paid for 15 games and he paid for only 3 games - each of us played 9 games. My master hand is worn out man with cuts and skin tear. If we gonna play it somewhere else, we gonna keep thinking about the money and I swear after 2 rounds of punch I will give up. Imagine paying 15 games somewhere else with a average rate of 3 bucks, it would be a whopping $45

PS: $1 per game from 10am - 2pm | 2pm -6 pm is $2 (well still Cheap la). The staff doesn't ask you for any IDs or cards for opening the lanes. They really trust those bowlers?

Movies @ Golden Village

I m not a movie fanatic, but I do catch movies with a couple of friends over the weekends (used to catch movie regularly every Saturday, sometimes it's for the seek of doing something. Normally it's mid-night movie so we could sit down and chit chat over supper after the movie.)

Talking about movie, let us side track abit from what I intend to share,
1) Do you watch movie alone ? Well I watch movie alone BUT when I m at home. I feel weird watching it alone in the cinema.

2) Do you rent Movie DvDs and gather a group of friends to watch it at your house instead. Well you better provide good screening, sound, snacks, space, Air-condition. I think it's cost-effective, renting a DvD for a day for about 3-5 bucks, if you get 5 friends over, you will be saving ($9.5X6=$57, $57-$5 for DvD rental) $52!! IMAGINE how much snacks/drinks you can pay. If you watch the mid night shows like me, it helps to save the cab fares too -you can stay overnight at your friend's house. Lastly, you can pause the show if nature calls. Great !

Alright here's the info,
Got to know about this promotion awhile back but didnt really try it until today. The Safra Membership discount on Golden Village movie tickets. You get to save a dollar for each ticket(s) purchase.

So if you plan to watch movies at Golden Village why not look around for friends with safra membership and enjoy the discount. Get 6 person and you could use the saving to buy a combo meal =D.

How do I use the discount ?

Unlimited Bus Ride - SBS

Car owners, may skip this section as it might not be relevant to you. SBS Transit has a new offering that give SeasonPass gives users unlimited trips on buses for $98 a month.

This new pass will benefit commuters who pay more than $3.30 a day for bus travel.
My personal case study, I would spent $2.50 on SBS bus to/from office.
Taking average of 23 working days per month, $2.50 X 23 = $57.50

Comparing it with another user, which pay more than $3.30 per day,
$3.30 X 23 = $75.90

Hmm, to make it worth the $98 bucks, unless you travel on both weekends,
$3.30 X 30 = $99
or a minimum travel fee of $4.30 per day,
$4.30 X 23 = $98.90

Promotion
(1) SBS Transit is offering a discount of $30 to commuters who buy three months worth of season pass stamps.

(2) NTUC members get a bigger discount, and get an additional $24 discount, paying $240 for a three month pass.
