HaPPy Chinese New year! busy collecting Ang Bao so i will cut it short, been a game addict for the past weeks again. Thanks to blizzard's WoW expansion, got my lvl 70 Character and my Flying mount plus Jewelcrafting skill blah blah....

As for my work, in pretty bad shape, especially last week. It's the longest and worst of my life man, WHY ? I caused my customer's database filesystem to be corrupted somehow. The database are use by 14 EMEA countries ( EURO countries). Unfortunately, we are unable to retrieve the Customer data. No idea what's gonna happen to me after chinese new year.

4 Lessons learnt:
1) Be prepared before you start doing any task, write out Action plans for ya task.
2) Always ensure backup of critical data before making any changes.
3) Move forward and list out next action rather than drilling on the past.
4) Never forget the first 3 lessons

how bad is bad ?

Ever wonder if a person will wake up daily and the first thing that comes into their mind before they went out of the house - Astrological or Horoscope reading?

Just curious if anyone does that daily as there are many websites that provide free daily analysis of your horoscope without or with a simple sign up.

Well how did that question pops ? There was a job yesterday which I need to picked some stuffs from point 'A' to point 'B'. Awaited about near to 1hr 30 minutes just to get the floor manager to open up the data center door. Get him to wait 5 minutes while I grabbed the stuffs and out. I m supposed to get 4 packs of RAM. I checked on the first two packs on the top to verify it's the correct item and went out. When I reached the ground level, I took a quick look and taDDDaaaaa "Both Dimms faulty" on the 3 pack !!! And the guy who can help me open the door is GONE!!!!!!
ARghhh went back and call the command center follow by another 30 minutes wait.

Next, took a cab from site 'A' to site 'B', it was a long drive man and the fare cost $15.90. Upon reaching the destination, I asked the uncle for receipt so I could make the claims from the company but somehow the machine didn't work. Alternative, he tried to find the manual paper receipt booklet BUT it's all USED UP!!! Arghhh drop off without the receipt.

Took a quick break before we start, went to the vending machine to get some drink...... IT's HUNG with "$0.10", we tried to insert the 10 cents coin but it didn't work (times when money is useless).

Next lunch time, wanted to eat "Qiu Lian ban mian" and went purposely to one of the coffee shop outside Temasek poly. But !!!!!!! It's gone!!!! Thus I ended up with the one dollar chicken rice ( slide track: there was this lady in front of me. When the staff asked for her order, she replied, "2 packages of duck rice" I was gosh..... what have you been doing while waiting, didn't you saw the sign board - "$1 Chicken rice" and they didn't hang up any duckie)

Lastly, a hair cut at Storm(Century Square). I was composing an sms and suddenly one of the staff came beside me and Pooooo, she just laid the robe cover over me while I was composing my sms, I mean can't she see it. She came back with the hair dye and started spreading, somehow the pressure and the way how she do it, doesn't make me feel professional at all. During the hair wash she did a abruptly job too. Though they serve drinks there, she didn't even ask. Bad bad service or rather it's just that woman. Felt like asking her, hey are you on PMS, if so please vent your frustration on something else.

Adding up all the incidents, what's the rating of a bad day? 1- 10 Or do you have worst to share ?

SMS with 'tone'

.....Bearly lifting my eyelids to glance at my mobile (checking for miss calls or sms). Woo got an unread SMS. Wonder whose that ? The message read ... "Please send me the update list before 5PM today. If not just send me what you have and I will take over the list back" , BOOM!!! my mind woke up immediately. I senses explosive and bad mood surrounding my manager.

Thought of calling him to sort out the issue but I m rushing for the meeting and I should be able to see him in the meeting. Thus I waited till the meeting ends.

I tried to explained or rather (in another perception from me finding excuses). It was the delay on a few parties to get the information (delayed responses and out of office).
Another me,
1) why didn't you feedback when things isn't moving or in doubts?
2) If you have difficulties this how am I gonna entrust important assignment to you?
3) Well you could have call the parties involve 2-5 times to stress the urgency or feedback to their superior.

What my manager told me, "To put it bluntly, I dun care how you do it, you just get it complete." (I once came across this phase, "Don't tell me how hard you work, It's how much you done".) Dun worry for me, at point of time, he's tone was pretty cool.

To reflect on those words, it's pretty true right ? If you are the boss and you need to involve yourself to a extended level and keep giving details steps to the assignment, what's the need of having the subordinates?

Actually I prefer working with this manager compare with the previous one. So much I can learn from him, not trying to be apple polish,
1) he know he's stuff technically, business flow and networks
2) In the meeting, people will listen to him and his rapport with the Citibank folks are pretty good, eg tickling around Dare to do that to ya customer ?
3) He's working style (he once told us, everyone make mistakes but MAKE SURE when you make the mistake inform me. I will try to cover if not I will try to smoke through LOL. No chance to prove this point but somehow I believe he meant his words.)

Had some interesting convesation with Vic and Colin over lunch, no idea how we landed on the Angbao money topic (CNY coming maybe, haha) Topic : "What's the biggest Ang Bao you have received ? Vic told me a few year big his Ang Bao money total can sum up to around 2k on good year and minimum 800-1k on not so good year. I was like OMG.... throughout my 24 years, think my highest grand total with my parents Big Ang Bao at most near to 500 and biggest from relative was 30+. Colin highest was a rich client of his mum, $50. Vic got $200 from uncle. What's the highest you got ? Calm ya mind and think carefully ............if more than 1k, does you uncle/auntie wants godson ? =D

Been busy writing my performance self-evaluation for the past few days. I was surprized by how I manage to sit there for hours just typing and typing. Amazing concentration level. Will the performance self-evaluation helps ? Guess it depends on how serious the management are treating it.

Mon - Move On

Started with a pretty rush day, well blame my bed haha just too comfortable. Skipped the most important meal of the day - Breakfast. Do you have a habit of eating breakfast ? I like having breakfast in the morning when i was in Aussie, if i m lazy at least a slice of bread spread with peanut butter(those wif nutz crunchy) plus a glass of ice cold milk. Yummy!! ^_^ But i hardly take my breakfast when I m back in town. Wonder why ? Any analysis from you ? My guess, weather.

Colin (my colleague) and I was tasked to setup some stuff, quite abit of uploading and downloading to do for the whole day. Well we have a pathetic temporary computer to work with thus i continued on my book and let him settle the stuffs =D. A guy from another department was there to guide us. But he's kinda of slow man(he know his stuffs but his fingers seem to pause alot on the keyboard) Oh, if someone guiding you on some topic and he/she offered, "if you are in doubt, just ask me" what would you do when you are in doubt ? Ask right ? And what you expect ? a reply on your question right ? Well this guy told us to ask questions when in doubt. When i poped the questions, most of the time he will show me his palm. Baka (my interpretation is hold on i m working on this) what's yours? There's lots of interesting people on planet earth - Move On

Mirror of Me

This weekend could be a busy one for some people out there, events like World Cyber Games @ Suntec and National Library Book sale @ Expo.

But kinda of in anti-crowded mood lately thus i choose to play Mahjong with beng, zk & ter on Sat and a relaxing day at silo beach with my NSI on Sun. Goddess of luck isn't on my side for gambling yesterday, for no good reason i became the shooter that create 2 rounds of max limit and a half limit to my opponents in 3 consecutive rounds. Well! that occurred only once in a blue moon.

As for the Sunny Sunday, gathering was cancel due to poor attendance. I was like didn't we all agreed on it two weeks ago.

So here's my Sunday at home, woke up late due to the overnight mahjong session followed by juicy prata-curry drumstick combo Wooo yummy!! Need prepare lunch, actually plan to do a simple 3 minutes maggi mee but my AUssy days suddenly zapped into my mind and here's the output. tahhhh - dahhhhhh "Stir Fried Mee with Nor Hiong"

Ok, here's the mirror part, i telling off my jacky on his behaviour and attitude for school work. It always pissed me off when he asked me some school work during the last few hours of the day before the next schooling day. That's a pretty long long story to it. As i was telling him off, he kept silent but from his facial expression (he seem to be listening and reflecting but kept smiling) suddenly i feel i m speaking to myself. I asked him "what's so funny, i m not telling you a joke here?" and his reply, "I m always like that". In the past, when speaking to others, i would most likely put on a smiley face be it good/bad/sometimes even serious matter, i couldn't control it. I wonder if it's the carefree attitude, cant be bother, lack of seriousness or something else. It's good to smile but do it at the right time.

Went back to office to settle some paper work and email. I was chatting with my new manager, Victor and CL ( one of colleague who just resigned )pop in front of us. He's now under GMP(a recuitment company). Hmmm just a thought, if the department turnover rate is high ? Does it mean anything ? After gathering some hear say and research, most of the people in my department will leave upon completion of their bond (about 2.5 years) except for some minority.

Had lunch with him and two other guys at a nearby market. Upon parking i saw this nice car,

A went to order first, B (me, i saw A coming back without knowing what he ordered). C came after me ( but we mid halfway after i had ordered). D went last. Conicidentally all 4 of us make order with the same stall.

On our way back to the carpark, one of them was saying "better get back to office fast, finish up the tasks and pack up before the manager pop up". Almost immediately when he finished his last word, the door to carpark opened and we saw the manager walking towards us. LOL

been quite awhile since my last update. Feelings lethargic lately and couldn't focus and totally stop about my to do list. There are items which i set the prority "urgent and important" about a month ago and it's still on my list today.

Met Sophia for shopping at orchard, she was talking to another guy when i reached the MRT control station. Found out that the guys was actually looking for new faces kinda modelling stuffs for events and he approached her. After that just before went entered into the tunnel towards far east, another lady tapped her on the back and ask for her contacts, similar kind of stuffs. I was like "WHERE GOT SO POPULAR ONE!!!!" oh bck to the above pic took it at DFS, contains all the cannot signs. "Singapore a fine city" haha interesting ? Oh one last thing, didnt know that we cant purchase alcoholic drinks at DFS, the sale person actually told us that we need to pre-order. hmmmm...





had steamboat with beng,zk,heng and our bro,kachi, whose back for holiday. chong qin still taste better haha. We went for sheesha after the dinner, my first time man. We were unable to finish the bottle of apple mint man. wasted!!
